A Very Special Card

This card was specially designed for the TGIF weekly challenge.  This week's challenge was a sketch challenge, which can be seen at the bottom of this blog. So without further adieu here it is.

First I stamped Sweater Knit stamp from My Favorite Things in Mint Macaron ink from Stampin' Up!  I then stamped my butterfly from the new Watercolor Wings stamp set in Mint Macaron, Tempting Turquoise and Coastal Cabana then Basic Black in the centre. I used my butterfly die from the coordinating die set and cut this in velum adhering this to the butterfly and adding a large rhinestone in the centre.

For the tag I used self adhesive poster board cut at 4"x2 1/2" and heat embossed onto this with white embossing powder using a Gorgeous Grunge stamp to create texture and interest. I then die cut a large Scribbles from MFT Die-namics die in Basic Gray and positioned this under the butterfly adhering with a little Crystal Effects to secure. The butterfly has foam dots underneath.  Silver ribbon and sequin were stapled to the tag to embellish it.

I die cut the"hello" from the Hello You set 3 times in Smokey Slate and adhered them on top of each other to create a thicker sentiment. This was adhered in parts to the tag again using Crystal Effects.

A doily from my stash was cut into thirds and a flower shape was die cut in Basic Gray and these were placed under the tag to peek through, the adhesive backing on the tag was exposed and it was adhered to the card base.  The card base was raised on Dimensionals from Stampin' Up! also.

On the inside of the card I tried something new and cut two 1" strips of Mint Macaron card and adhered them to the bottom of the inside and outside of the card.  Using a Stitched Rectangle from Die-namics this was positioned onto the card. Sequin and rhinestones were then added front and inside for embezzlement.

This card took more than an hour to complete. It has a lot of detail and work put in to it and it was a joy to create and make.
