My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge

This week's sketch challenge over at #mftstamps was so much fun.

I started by using Whimsical Wishes stamp and Black Archival ink stamped the lines stamp onto white card.  I then used the circle die from Blueprints 18 and a larger one from the Zig Zag set to make the circles and initially p,aced them reverse side up in position on my card.

I used my Embossing Buddy from Stampin' Up! To prepare my card then using the scribbles stamp and VersaMark I stamped all around the card.  I then removed my two circles and heat embossed the scribbles with gold embossing powder from SU.

I used the Hello You framelits to make the 'happy' and the Rotary Alphabet stamp for the birthday, both from SU.  I adhered the first 'p' to the butterfly with Glossy Accents then used glue dots for behind the peg.

The butterfly is the Neon stack from DCWV and I used the Bold Butterfly framelit from SU.

Inside I stamped the line stamp again in Black and die cut a Scribbles from gold foil paper from SU to accent.

Here is the #mftstamps sketch challenge, I hope you have enjoyed my interpretation.

A great challenge I'm sure you agree.  Why not head over to the My Favorite Things  blog and check out what other folk have been up to.  Take care of you.

Happy Birthday

I am so in love with my Die-namics dies right now, I'm getting kind of obsessed lol.  Today's card used lots of die cutting, both Die-namics and Stampin' Up!  Here it is.

I have used the Stripes Cover Up die with black card over Whisper White.  I used the stitched circle from the Blueprints 15 set to create two of the flowers and my 1 3/4" punch from SU for the larger one.  I used my Scribbles die for inside the flowers in Whisper White and a cream card from the Co-ordinations pack from Graphic 45.  The leaves are from the Flower Patch die set from SU.

The "hello" die has been die cut three times in white and adhered with Glossy Accents.  Dimensionals have been used throughout.

The leaves here are from the Bouquet Bigz die from SU.

The "birthday" was stamped using my SU Rotary alphabet stamp and die cut using Stitched Rectangles from Die-namics.  Rhinestones have been added to embellish.

I hope you have enjoyed this card and I hope you will return tomorrow to see another card then.  Take care of you.

Happy Birthday Card

Why is it when designing a card layout some flow easily and others, well just don't.  This card despite deciding to follow a MFT Stamps design template just wouldn't work.  Ŷou would think having the template would make it easy but not today.  That said I'm now happy with it so here it is.

Here's the template.

Pink Pirouette die cut inside with stars from the Blueprints 15 set and Stampin' Up! mini punch set.  The hearts are from the Blueprints 15 set with the smallest also being from SU mini punch set.  The envelope is Very Vanilla.

Here you can see more detail; Sweater Knit stamp from My Favorite Things, Round Stitched Rectangle die set, Stitched Rectangle die set, Scribbles die set all from Die-namics.  "Happy" sentiment die cut 3 times in Pink Pirouette adhered together then a pearlised cream card from my stash layers on top.  The navy is Night of Navy from SU as is the silver foil.  "birthday " has been stamped using the Rotary Alphabet stamp from SU also.

I think possibly the reason I struggled today is because over the last 4 weeks I have made over 70 cards, around 50 different designs, so maybe my head is all pooped out lol.  I love making them, I sit all day every day making cards it is such a peaceful thing for me to do but maybe I need to take a rest and come back to it later.  Can't see it happening but I will try gardening instead for a day or two.

Take care of you.

Happy Birthday You

Folk following my blogs and Facebook pages will now just how much I am loving my fairly new discovery of My Favorite Things.  I have had two Stitched Rectangle die sets for just over a month know and I have already added to these with more die sets and stamps.  Today MFT Stamps has started a new "summer school" and I really want to join in, so I made this card but I may submit my previous one lol.

The rule is Gallon, Quart and Pint.  Now not being an American I do use these measurements but I get the drift.  So my Gallon is the new Tip Top Taupe in colour from Stampin' Up!, my Quart is Mint Macaron and my Pint is Pink Pirouette, both from SU also.   Honestly it feels quite strange having a completely clean white base as lately I have been using a lot of background stamps and stencilling so My brain hasn't quite adjusted yet lol.

Sequin added to embellish.

Side view to see all the layering.

I have added some silver Scibbles behind the butterfly from Die-namics and in the flag and to coordinate I have added rhinestones.  The pattern on my die cut stitched rectangle is Mint Macaron using my Sweater Knit stamp.  The butterfly is stamped in Turquoise, Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate and die cut using a coordinating die.  These are Watercolor Wings from SU.   My "you" was die cut 3 times from the SU Hello You set and adhered all on top of each other to create a more defined word.  I have used the same technique several times and whilst it is more time consuming it is definitely worth it to achieve this result.

I hope you have enjoyed this card, I certainly have had fun making it.  Take care of you.

A Very Special Card

This card was specially designed for the TGIF weekly challenge.  This week's challenge was a sketch challenge, which can be seen at the bottom of this blog. So without further adieu here it is.

First I stamped Sweater Knit stamp from My Favorite Things in Mint Macaron ink from Stampin' Up!  I then stamped my butterfly from the new Watercolor Wings stamp set in Mint Macaron, Tempting Turquoise and Coastal Cabana then Basic Black in the centre. I used my butterfly die from the coordinating die set and cut this in velum adhering this to the butterfly and adding a large rhinestone in the centre.

For the tag I used self adhesive poster board cut at 4"x2 1/2" and heat embossed onto this with white embossing powder using a Gorgeous Grunge stamp to create texture and interest. I then die cut a large Scribbles from MFT Die-namics die in Basic Gray and positioned this under the butterfly adhering with a little Crystal Effects to secure. The butterfly has foam dots underneath.  Silver ribbon and sequin were stapled to the tag to embellish it.

I die cut the"hello" from the Hello You set 3 times in Smokey Slate and adhered them on top of each other to create a thicker sentiment. This was adhered in parts to the tag again using Crystal Effects.

A doily from my stash was cut into thirds and a flower shape was die cut in Basic Gray and these were placed under the tag to peek through, the adhesive backing on the tag was exposed and it was adhered to the card base.  The card base was raised on Dimensionals from Stampin' Up! also.

On the inside of the card I tried something new and cut two 1" strips of Mint Macaron card and adhered them to the bottom of the inside and outside of the card.  Using a Stitched Rectangle from Die-namics this was positioned onto the card. Sequin and rhinestones were then added front and inside for embezzlement.

This card took more than an hour to complete. It has a lot of detail and work put in to it and it was a joy to create and make.

Freshly Made Sketches Weekly Challenge

I'm Wow, this card took me hours to make. I kind of knew what I wanted to do but there was a lot of playing around to achieve the final outcome. Ok yes and I was watching Wimbledon so I was distracted lol. So without further adieu here is my card.

On the outside I used my brand new goodies from My Favourite Stamps, the Sweater Knit stamp and Die-namics dies Scribbles.

To start with I stamped the stamp with Versamark and clear embossed it.  This was then die cut using the largest frame from Die-namics Blueprints 15 set.  I then cut two pockets, one in Pink Pirouette and the other in Midnight Muse, both from Stampin' Up!, using the Sweater Knit stamp, 3"x2 1/2".  These have 1/2" border on 3 sides, scored and adhered using Crystal Effects as I needed really good adhesion onto the heat embossed base card.  The pockets both end up 2"x2".

The die cut scribbles were cut in Melon Mamba and Night of Navy, this was adhered directly onto the pocket whilst the other was adhered onto a die cut stitched circle from the Blueprints 15 die set.  I then die cut the strip die and using tiny pop dots were placed along the middle.  I used silver string from my stash to tie a bow going through two of the holes, back to front, and tying at the front.

For the cards in the front pockets I used Project Life cards cut down to size. In one I added "happy birthday" layered and on the other which was green inside I covered this with silver washi tape then die cut a star and a heart from silver glimmer paper from Stampin' Up! Using dies from the Blueprints 15 set.

For the inside I die cut some white card using the Stitched Rectangles die from Die-namics and a larger strip using the large rectangle from the Blueprints 15 set cutting this into a smaller rectangle. A Melon Mamba Scribble was then adhered on top.

Who would have guessed this card took nearly two hours to design and make. Sometimes it just flows and other times we have to work it. That said I love it. It's different from any other card I have ever made and takes me back to my album making days, which regrettably is a while ago any of which you can find in my much earlier blogs featuring Graphic 45 paper collections. These are A Ladies Diary, Steampunk Spells, an ABC Primer to mention only a few. Click the search link over on the right and you will find them very easily.

Well the frenchman won, Richard Gasquet, it was a great match but I did miss lots of great shots lol.

Take care of you.
