TGIF Challenge

This week over at #tgif the colour challenge this week is Basic Gray, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. Here is what I made.

I wanted to make a more masculine card, hard for someone who automatically reaches for sequin and butterflies lol.

I used Basic Gray ink with a new stamp from My Favorite Things, Cheesecloth. I love this stamp and I think like all the other background stamps from MFT it will be versatile and be well used.

I stamped my Typewriter Text stamp, MFT, in Pool Party and die cut this using a Die-namics Pierced Tag die.  I also die cut a Daffodil Delight circle using a Dienamics Zig Zag Circle die.   Foam Dimentionals were added to this to create layering.

I used the Hello You die set to make the 'happy' and used black Bazzill card stock for this.  I then used my Rotary stamp from Stampin' Up! to stamp 'birthday' and layered this with white card to make the banners.  All these were layered together to create the card.  I found it difficult not to add a butterfly but I still had to add some embellishments so chose sequin from Teresa Collins Urban Market collection in grey and black and white.

I hope you have enjoyed this card. Why not head over to the  and check out other cards using this colour combo.

See you tomorrow for another card. Take care of you.

Daffodil Delights

I don't normally use a lot of yellow but today I just felt the need and I thought it complimented my embossed background wonderfully.

The Dotty Angles stamp from Stampin' Up! was stamped with VersaMark the entire length of the page then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Daffodil Delight card and base then die cut using..... can you guess? Blueprints 15 lol!  I also used the circle die, which stitch cuts inside and out to make the flowers.  I used a 1 3/4" circle punch from SU to punch out the outer circle.  This was raised on tiny wee foam dots with the middle once stamped raised on double height foam dots.  The stems were die cut using Flower Fair set with the same tiny foam dots placed behind each leaf.

Inside Daffodil Delight ribbon added along with the sentiment and flowers on the envelope are from the Flower Patch stamp set from SU.  I  used the Project Life die set for the sentiment and Blueprints 15 for the white base.

The "hello" is from Hello You die set from SU.  This has been adhered in part with Glossy Accents.  The  flowers are stamped in Basic Black and Strawberry Slush.   Sequin and rhinestones added to embellish.

More playing once I get some housework done lol.  See you all again soon.  Take care of you.

Rubic or Square Card

Last night in a moment of inspiration having seen a photograph by My Favourite Things on Instagram I made this card.

I used black as the accent and used a Project Life framelit from Stampin' Up' then made a narrower one in Whisper White.

I then went about making lots of odd shapes using my Dienamics stitched dies.  I had to run them through my Big Shot several times to make smaller shapes.  In total for this card approx 18 times!  I then used Pool Party on bottom left, Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist and Mint Macaron on the remaining.  I then used rhinestones from Stampin' Up! To decorate.

Inspired by last night's card I then made this, which is similar to the original on Instagram.

This is Mint Macaron and Heidi Swapp foil papers for the Minc.  I used the Basic Shapes steel rule die from Sizzix.

The accent here is Pink Pirouette and ink used is Mint Macaron, Pool Party and Pink Pirouette.  I added two Bitty butterflies punch in various paper and velum then a sequin and rhinestones were added.  Again as my Dienamics die's are rectangles there was lots of die cutting to create squares.  Lastly, the sentiment was heat embossed in silver embossing powder from Stampin' Up!

I hope today has been kind for you.  Take care of you.

Weekly Challenges

This week's Colour Q challenge started yesterday and by coincidence my fear of circles is the challenge over at Pals Paper Arts.  So I have entered this card into both.

For this I have pushed myself a little further.  We all have our favourites and comfort zones, yes?  Well I have challenged myself to get myself completely out of mine.  Circles, yes, circles I hate them!  When I see other folks cards I love them, I'm in awe of them.  When I try - hate them.  Until now.  I quite like this one, but I think it took me two hours to make lol.

I don't have Marina Mist but the shade of blue in the stripe is almost the same.  I also added Lost Lagoon too.  Not sure if you're allowed another colour so I may be disqualified.

Great fun.  Why not head on over to Colour Q, click the link here and check out what other more talented folk are up to and head over to Pals Paper Arts  here too.

Hope Thursday is being kind to you.  Take care of you.
