Leave A Little Sparkle

The word 'Sparkle' and the sequin have been first stamped with VersaMark then heat embossed with Stampin' Up! silver embossing powder.  Additional sequin have been added from Stampin' Up!  The button is Vintage Faceted Button from Stampin' Up! and the butterfly has been die cut using Bold Butterfly, also from Stampin' Up!

The background stamp is Sweater Stitch and stamped in Grout Gray, both from My Favorite Things.  The blue ink is Night Of Navy from Stampin' Up! used in the sentiment and with Typewriter Text stamp from MFT in the tag.  The tag and rectangle dies are from Die-namics. 

The silver glimmer paper and foil paper are from Stampin' Up!

Tip Top Taupe Sublime

Today's card is a mix of Tip Top Taupe from Stampin' Up!, Die-namics from My Favorite Things of course, and yellow card from Bazzill and DCWV.   Here it is.

I used the Die-namics die Stripes Cover Up from MFT Stamps and Tip Top Taupe from SU. I replaced the inlays with Whisper White from SU.  I then adhered this to yellow Bazzill card stock, which has been die cut using the large stitched die from Die-namics Blueprints15 set. 

The butterfly is die cut from Sizzux Basic Shapes Bigz die using DCWV Collage Stack. This paper stack has never been released in the UK and I had a friend ship it from the U.S. especially for me. It has been a great collection, well loved and well used.  The tag is Mint Macaron from SU die cut using the Pierced Tag Stax from Die-namics.  

The heart is also from the Basic Shapes die using SU emboss resist paper that was available during Sale A Bration. This has been placed in a Dimensional from SU, as has the butterfly. Silver thread has been used behind the butterfly, this is also from SU. 

Lastly stickers from Tim Holtz, tiny butterflies using a punch from my stash and rhinestones from SU have been used to embellish the card. 

On the inside the same tiny butterflies have been punched from the Bazzill card with rhinestones added to adorn them.

New Cards New Products

I cannot get enough of My Favorite Things right now.  I am loving their background stamps and dies so much I bought more with my birthday money.  Here are two cards I made straight away when this packages hit the mat.

Project Life 2015 Album

Today I have completed a double page in my 2015 album. I have been thinking a lot about life and what motivates and inspires me and the pages reflect this.

This page has a Becky Higgins quote from one of her collections, the notepaper I cut out using my Sizzix Eclips machine from a stack from DCWV. The tag is from my stash and I have written a motivational inscription on it.  The top right is from Love Story from Stampin' Up! and this has a 2x2 photo adhered and the bottom left I used some Tim Holtz words that also remind me of a perspective I am always trying to achieve in life. 

Again I have an inspirational quote, which is a 4x4 photo and above is a 4x4 card from the Everyday Adventure Project Life set from Stampin' Up!  I have adhered some wooden alphas to compliment the photo, which has the sea and 'wander' written. It reminds me of my life before children and sometimes I miss that spontaneous lifestyle and freedom that came with this (just sometimes).

Gorgeous Mini Album

This is a new mini album I have made using Couture paper collection from Graphic 45, a Tim Holtz binder and easel using the easel die from his Ideology collection.

I have used my Sizzix Eclips to cut this frame then embossed it using an embossing folder.  

The background paper is from DCWV the Alphabet Stack.

The vellum is from Stampin' Up!

Lots of fussy cutting and glossing accents.

I love making these frames.  Family photos look amazing in them.

Project Life and Stampin' Up!

Just in case you haven't heard Becky Higgins and Stampin' Up! have partnered together, which I am delirious about.  The USA are ahead of us so they have samples and photos all over YouTube and Instagram, but alas us European demos are not allowed to even show a whiff of it until July 2nd.  Unfair, yes, frustrating, oh yes and discriminatory, big time!

So I have purchased another Project Life set from my LCS and made a few of my own filler cards.  Here is what I have done so far......

I used my Sizzix Eclips and Collage Art by DCWV to make these filler cards, sized approx. 3x4".

I hope you like what I have done so far.  I still have all the baby years to do so I will be posting more pages when they are completed.

Floral Hearts and Butterflies.

This week some people in my life are dealing with grief, some expected but equally incomprehensible and other a few years old but still raw and upsetting.

I myself am coming to term with change and arguable grieving but in a different way.  Life is so fragile, can be shockingly short and just down right hard at times.  So as a way of trying to find good energy, positivity and what has been lacking in my life is some ways, 'a sense of purpose' I automatically reached for what I have found helps me.  Flowers and butterflies can be so beautiful, delicate and have a strange way for many to just make us smile, relaxed and hopefully less stressed.  Or is that wine?  Ok humour works too.......  so here is what today I have made.

The heart came from my LCS at an almighty bargain of £2.50 and I have had it stashed for a number of weeks.  It came with the ivory ribbon attached.

I used Mariposa paper collection from DCWV using the flower die from Stampin' Up! and green and cream card stock from my stash.  I also used both the butterfly punches from Stampin' Up! and punched butterflies from the left over paper from around the flower die, which only goes to reinforce keeping all your scrap is definitely the right thing to do (like I really need any convincing!).

I used my Sizzix Eclips to cut the leaves and Gumball Green ink from Stampin' Up! around the cut edges inside and out as it had white core.  The centre of the leaves was also removed and ink applied and the glued back onto the leave only at the bottom to allow it to move and add a further layer and dimension.  

Also from my stash using jewellery wire I places beads into the centres of the flowers wrapping this around the wicker base.

Again from my stash, believe me this is huge, I used hat pins, which I bought from a local haberdashery and twisted the beads on string onto one another to secure then pushed the pin into the wicker to secure it.  I also used tiny seed self adhesive bead, yes from my stash, onto the butterflies to tie it all together.

I'm kind of really liking this wicker heart and I was considering giving it to my mum for Mother's Day......mmmmmm might have to just stay on my wall, it looks gorgeous where it is.

Mixed Media

I have only really ventured into the realm of mixed media once before and after today I can see the attraction.

Using an old cover from a catolougue I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do and generally just went at it.  Here are a few photos.

Used: 

Dylusions stamps, DCWV Collage Stack, PITT Big Brush pens, Gelatos, black PITT pen, white Sharpie, Claudine Helmuth multi Matt, Tim Holtz Spltter stencil and stamps, rough collage paste and Gesso.

Great fun and will definately be doing this again.

A 'Winged' Flight of Fancy

So this is my last week of being a Guest Designer for the Stampotique a Designers blog and will be handing over the reins to someone else to keep you all inspired along with our very talented designers.

As you will know me now I'm one for trying to think of off the page projects, and this one is just that.

I have made a light shade into a hot air balloon.  I have made a number of shades before with each one being unique.  As is this one, unique with my favourite gals as guardian angels.

All the wings for my angels come from DCWV Mariposa collection, one of my all time favourites.

I had two daisies left from decorating my mirror in last weeks project and also added pink and purple flowers, all from I Am Roses.

The pink and butterfly charms on each corner of the basket are from my stash.

The paper for the butterflies is DCWV Collage Art Stack.  This collection is only available in the USA but when I saw it I was determined to have it.  Thanks to a friend she trailed to her LCS and mailed it to me.  Pricey but worth it as it is gorgeous.   The butterflies have been layered using velum and ribbon and organza from my stash.

I have a great time being a guest designer this month and truly hope my crafting projects has helped you consider how your own projects can come off your page and into your home creating fun and giggles for every room.
