Birthday's Deserve Something Special

My daughter turned 24 today, the thought still makes me shiver, where have all these years gone.  So I got to making her something special for her birthday and what else would I use but all of my favourite products.

I used Distress Ink, Stampin Up, Stampotique and Tim Holtz all on this card.  Moth Fab herself I used my favourite Inktense watercolour pencils from Derwent and two skin tone one's from Faber Castell.  I added some stars using a stencil from Tim Holtz later after I had taken this photo.  I thought it needed them and both Mothy and my daughter deserve to have stars alongside them.

Next I used my Sizzix Eclips and my rolled flower bigz die and made a handbag card, well you know how much I love my handbags.  I used my Martha Stewart score pad with the envelope extra to make the envelope.  As expected she was hoping there would be money inside but just a token for a hug lol. I have a lot of bits n bobs in my stash so had lots of pearl beads and adhered them into the roses.  I then used two jewellery findings with ball endings and used pliers to bend the wire to simulate an old fashioned clasp.  Lots of fun and something pretty and special.

A Star Is Born

I have been playing around again today.  I have used for the very first time modelling paste in a project. The one I have seems quite rough and I'm not too sure about it.  What do you think?

I first covered the card with gesso the used my Star stencil from a Tim Holtz and a credit card, which is new but thought if I damaged it then I couldn't use it!  

I then used some green and blue Gelatos and then spritzed them with water and moved the card around to get an effect I was happy with.

I then used Cornflower Blue and Fern Green Archival Ink from Ranger and a dabbler to make inky stars in my background.  I find when using Gelatos you really have to use archival ink for the best effect.

Using Dylusions stamps I used Right Up Your Street and Curious Corrin coloured with Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils for the main character.  Lots of new experimenting and overall just happy playing around trying to be creative.

Quick Crimbo Card

Hi all.  Wow have you all been busy?  I have been rushing about crazy past two days as I have had health problems so I haven't been able to get creative.

However, 5 minutes ago I realised I hadn't made a card for my no. 1 daughter and her squeeze hohoho.  So I did this, I think it will pass!

I will be back in the New Year with some wee projects, I am excited about being a Guest Designer for a whole month so busy, busy.

Getting Ready For Christmas

Hi all.  I have been keeping really busy lately making cards and tags for a few Christmas craft fairs I have at the end of this month.

Christmas Cracker

I am ssssoooo gonna get in trouble for this blog but hey ho, hey ho........  Yip here is my first official  Christmas blog wwwoooooo hhhhoooooo.......!

As I have been making tags I absolutely had to use my favourite girls.

I have used a Prima tag and then used the red Gelato from Faber Castell and then stamped one of my new JOFY stamps using my PITT big brush pens. I used a variety of white pens and a Tim Holtz stencil to add some dimension and background.

Moth fab was stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured using a variety of red Inktense pencils and raised on pop dots.  She then got properly dressed for her Christmas party putting on her favourite black belt and pearl buckle.  Last but not least although she doesn't normal wear them, a Santa hat is a must.  

Using my favourite Christmas stamps, so far, from Stampin Up a very appropriate sentiment was stamped in Barn Door Distress Ink, raised on pop dots and a Christmas green card for the background.

Then I just played adding tape, Butchers Twine in Xmas, ribbon, lots and lots of Stickles in Christmas Red and green and also some gorgeous ribbon on the top.  I also added a wine glass charm I made, which has red, green and clear gems and a charm.  Lastly I distressed the tag with Festive Berries, no less, Distress Ink then stood back and smiled.

I love Christmas and can't wait to make more fabby Christmas goodies.

The Octopode Factory Weekend

Hi guys. 

Last weekend I received some new stamps from The Octopode Factory.   They are a mix between cute, goth and punk haha. Great fun and a lot different from the twee and cutsie stamps you can easily buy. 

So having lots of fun I made some cards. 

This last card I have entered in The Octopode Factory Friday Challenge which was pink and green. I found this quote and nearly died laughing at the irony of my little Alice In Wonderland and Mick Jagger's quote. So so funny.

Something Old, Something New......

Happy weekend to you all.  I can't really say my beautiful Prom Queen from the Stampotique collection is old, however the something new is using gesso.  I see so many beautiful art journals and other mixed media using gesso I hand always wanted to try.  So I have, albeit very tentatively haha

I have made a tag, 5"x 8" ish.  I used Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough for the background then Picked, or pickled as I always want to call it, Raspberry for the stamping with my very new stamp, yesterday, bla bla blah, which is soooo much fun it is going to be a long time favourite of mine.

I did some doodling with a Faber Castell pen and a white Signo and Sharpie, two of my favourite white pens.  Using my also newly acquired, yesterday, stencils from Tim Holtz; Splatter, using first Picked Raspberry and a foam applicator stencilled the rings and then moved the stencil very slightly added the gesso also using another foam applicator.

I added some pink and purple organza ribbon and a 'love' charm on cord, both I have in my stash.  I also used Evergreen Bough to make the splatters from the stencil and Peacock Feathers using Tim's Burlap and Honeycomb stencils (yes new yesterday too lol).

So here she is?  I love green and pink, they are gorgeous together.  Prom was stamped with Versafine black ink, coloured using my Intense pencils from Derwent, cut out and adhered down.  Just before I glued her down a moment of madness took me over, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, I added some washi tape from Tim Holtz, the butterfly one? to create some wings cos she is truly an angel.

Love love love all my art supplies, have so much fun and hope you enjoy them too.

Stampotique Design Team Application

Over the past weeks I have been thoroughly enjoying using stamps from the Stampotique collection.  This is a fairly new collection for me but since finding them oh what amazing fun.  I buy a few every payday and will continue to do so.

This week I wanted to take on a new challenge so i decided to have a go at altering an item.  Sooooo, of course using my favourite ladies and wee man I made this......

It's a wooden bird house.  I painted it pink using a tester pot of Dulux paint and then covered it with amazing paper from DCWV, A Colorful Life collection, which already has lots of printed layers and textures on it, however I have added more layers also.

I added a black flower from my stash of I Am Roses and using my hot glue gun secured it into a wee plant pot then adhered that onto the rim of the bird house.

I stamped Moth Fab and Smile onto card then using my favourite Inktense watercolour pencils from Faber Castell coloured them in.  Using glue and dimensional foam they were then adhered to the front.  I also used a bottle top from a beer bottle, mmmm sorry for not sharing, cut out a circle and heart and then added a birdcage charm and chain from my collection.

On the roof you can see where I added Hearts stamp.

I also used a Hero Arts stamp, for the flowers, cut them out, coloured them with watercolour pencils, layered them on and added more embellishments.  The watering can was originally on a long stem, which I snipped with wire cutters then using thick jewellery wire coiled this around a pencil, secured it to a button, glued the wire to the can using hot glue then adhered the button to the rim in the same way.  The butterfly is from my stash, which I have had a while.

The blackbird is from the paper collection, which I cut around and adhered separately to add dimension.  I love those poppy's.

Here is Relax, which has been stamped and coloured in grey and red, cut out and adhered.  The flower is from Hero Arts.  I also added a wire coil, which has been hot glued to a button.  This is for adding a small photo.

On top of this wee hoosie is some hearts adhered to coiled wire again and is meant to simulate a chimney.

I have also been enjoying making tags and my favourite pastime - doodling.  Prom was my very first Stampotique stamp and I will always have a soft spot for this beauty.

I have also been making some door hangers.  These were covered in Gelatos, stamped with PITT big brush pens and sealed with a coat of Decopatch gloss.  Moth is all pink and green, gorgeous as ever and coloured using my Inktense watercolour pencils.

Having the opportunity of being part of an amazing design team using these fantastic stamps would be a wonderful opportunity for me. My style can be quite girlie but I also enjoy monochrome and citrus colours.  I just love colour.  

I love to undertake new challenges, discover new techniques and be challenged to develop my creative style.  I love to share my designs hopefully inspiring others to develop their own style, maybe learn something new but most of all to have fun.
