Cotton Paper Rose From Stampin' Up!

My baby wanted a rose so a rose she will have.

This is the new cotton paper from Stampin' Up! and this is Watermelon Wonder.  The leaves were some left over from the Build a Bouquet kit.  Wimbledon beckons, who will win Anderson or Djokovic?

Pals Paper Arts Weekly Challenge

This week the challenge is to use Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush.  I found a card on Pinterest by Joy Taylor and used this as my inspiration.

Here is my interpretation and design.

I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set throughout, one of my all time favourites.  I stamped the background in Watermelon Wonder.  I then made a velum coin envelope and placed some white cotton thread in a messy bundle on top secured with a glue dot.

I then heat embossed with white embossing powder using different stamps onto all the card.  I used a 1" circle punch and 1/2" width in the Watermelon Wonder and the Night of Navy.  I first punch using a Elegant butterfly but felt I needed a larger one so I used my Basic Shapes Sizzix die instead.  

Here is the card embossed with the shapes cut out to see more of how I achieved this look. 

I used a Dienamics die around the "happy birthday" raised this on foam dots and added rhinestones on either side and one on the butterfly.  Both the circle and butterfly were also raised on foam dots.

Watermelon Wonder and Gold Card

Today's card continues with my gold and Watermelon Wonder theme.  I love this combination as it reminds me of summer corals and suntans.

I used the Star boarder punch to create the accents on the left then layered this on top of a strip of Watermelon Wonder.  I then lined up three words from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set and stamped in VersaMark onto card then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Using my cinch I then replicated a notebook page.

Sizzix Basic Shapes die was then used to create the glitter and foil hearts in gold.  The sentiment comes from the Flower Patch stamp set and this was also heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  

A gold glitter dot was added and gold twine from SU also to pull it all together.

Watermelon Wonder Card

Stampin' Up! has new 'in colours' for 2015/2017 and Watermelon Wonder is another striking colour which many future cards will surely be used for.

I used a Stampin' Up! Glitter Paper and Foil Paper for the butterflies.  The tag has SU gold ribbon and is heat embossed with white embossing powder, white pearl accents added with the sentiment also heat embossed using gold embossing powder all from SU.

Other products used are Dienamics dies and Teresa Collins gold pearls.

Perfect.

Stampin' Up! New 'In Colours' 2015/2015

This weekend I have been making cards using the new 'in colours' for 2015/2017 from Stampin' Up!

I used a new technique; using my aqua brush to freehand make stripes across the page.  Here are the cards I have made.

The new colours are Cucumber Crush, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron (all used above) and Delightful Dijon.
