Day 7 Of My 'Just One' Stamp Set Challenge

Welcome all to Day 7 of my 'just one' stamp set challenge where I have been using 'just one' stamp set, as the name suggests lol, to create a different project every day.   I have challenged myself with this in celebration of Stampin' Up!'s annual Sale-A-Bration, which runs from 6th January through to 31st March. Incase you haven't heard for every £45 you spend on goods of your own choice you can pick either a stamp set, paper or wonderful projects FOR FREE. Also if you sign up to become a demonstrator you will receive £130 worth of goods OF YOUR CHOICE for only £99 PLUS the pick of TWO FREE kits of your own choice. This opportunity only runs during SAB so why not click on the tabs above, check out the products and open up a whole new world of crafting to you using these top quality amazing products.

Ok, back to my final day of this challenge and one of my favourites.

I have made a photo frame using Designer Series Paper from the Spring/summer catalogue and black card.  Then I used Versamark and gold embossing powder with the 'Best Day Ever' stamp raised on foam dots to create layering and texture. The frame and mini note paper I cut out using my Sizzix Eclips machine.

Here is a picture of the background adhered to a cut piece of poster board slightly shorter than the dimensions of the frame.

Here is a picture of it now adhered to the frame. I adhered all the sides but you can chose to only adhere 3 sides leaving the top unglued to enable a photo to be placed in behind.

This is a side view. I made a paper hinge and adhered this to a long thin piece of poster board to create the stand. I then used a piece of gold ribbon and adhered to the back of both the frame and stand using a glue dot.

Here is a picture of the front before its all adhered.

This is a much larger frame I have made. Here I only glued 3 sides leaving the top open and this allows you to change out the background.   I have used one of the filler cards from the Love Story Project Life set from Stampin' Up!

Here are the two frames together.  I love how these have turned out. Simple but elegant and a wonderful way to bring inexpensive home decor to any room in your home.

Story Book Mini Album (Part 1).

Yesterday I was feeling kind of restless and was desparate to have a new project.  I have some paper on order so decided to get started on the construction of what is now my current project.

This is the book cover of what will be the storage for a mini album.  It measures 5 1/2" x 7".  I have used good quality poster board.  First I lay a few lines of adhesive to the back of each piece then place it down on a length of cardstock, leaving approx 1" all around.  When placing all the parts together be sure to leave 1/8" or the width of a piece of board you are using to ensure there is sufficient space for it to close.

I then made 'the box' which will go inside.  I have adhered the hinges already in this picture.  I use kraft cardstock for its strength.  Cut 1" strips then using a scoring board score at 1/2" the entire length.  Using a strong double sided 1/2" tape place two strip down the length you need, in this case 6 7/8" (x2) and 5 3/8" (x2).  Remove one side of tape and adhere onto the box, beware not to go farther than the middle score line, adhere just before ensuring their will be space to adhere to the outside covers of the album.

This is how it looks once closed.

I then painted all the edges using black gesso.

Then changed my mind, I wanted it white!

I then cut out using my trusted craft knife and steel rule 6 chipboard pieces measuring 6 1/4" x 5 3/8" and then rounded the corners.

I then punched a hole in the centre to enable a metal ring to be used to clasp them all together once finished and painted them white too.

This is as far as I have gotten so far.  Come back soon to see more progress as it's made.

One word of warning......the paper I have ordered for this album is coming from the USA and may take a wee while so it will likely be some days before my next post on this album.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Take care of you.
