Bold and Gorgeous

Oh I wish I was young again.  I would love to have the courage to be this rock chick.  Sex Pistols, Blondie, Ramones and The Cure bring it on........

If you would like to make this card here's what you will need.....

Faber Castell are amazing products, I also use PITT pens, but like these Gelatos I am still building my collection.

I used Coconut, Red Cherry, Tangerine and Mango Gelatos.  These can be quite difficult to find in the UK but they are ssssoooo worth it.  They are similar to lipstick and they are amazing for all kinds of mixed media, art journalling and card making, oh and they go a long way and last forever.

I also love my Aquarelle pencils, water colouring has become one of my favourite loves.  These are 119, 125, 131, 132 and 134.   I love pink and purple and I am kinda stuck in this theme at the moment, but hey it's a lovely colour to be stuck in lol.

I have also been investing in some Stampotique and Dylusions stamps.  They work so well together are completely wacky and I LOVE THEM SSSOOOO MUCH.  These are Daniel Torrente stamps Moth Fab and Hearts.  These are a considered purchase as thy are not cheap but they are so amazing and you will be sure to get soo much fun out of them. The flower is from Dylusions How Does Your Garden Grow and the sentiment, bwhahaha if we can call it that, is from the Say It How It Is collection.  Dyan Reaveley is a creative genius in my books.

I started by using the Coconut Gelato first then randomly placed the other colours.  Using the white helps to blend and move the Gelatos around.  I have used white gesso before and that works great too.

The using your finger, start light to dark and rub and blend.  Add more until you get the depth of colour you want.

I then stamped some backgrounds using the Distress Inks.

I stamped my wee pal using Versafine in Onyx Black.  Any archival ink is fine but as you are using water colour it must be archival so it doesn't bleed.

I used a waterbrush and starting light to dark I blended all the colours.  I let it dry then did it all again to add more depth and help with the shading, I think you need this particularly if your sticking to one colour.  You then need to cut her out, stamp and cut out the sentiment and put it all together.

I used a coral Bazzill cardstock and an A5 card which I cut down to A6.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and are having a stampendous weekend.

Take care of you.

  5. Pauline, I hear yah! ;-) I, too, lacked a certain amount of courage when I was younger, but not now! I wear purple and orange--and sometimes even together! Love your rocker chick, and has certainly rocked this color challenge!
