Day 5 of my Stampin' Up! Project Life Monochromatic Mini Series

Phew, that is a mouthful of a heading, a bit like a tongue twister lol.  So, welcome to the final day of this mini series.  I have loved making these cards and I hope you have enjoyed seeing them.  So without further adieu here is the Day 5 card.

Back to my signature use of pegs lol, it had to be done didn't it?

I used a silver Sharpie to colour the sticker from the accessory pack and placed this onto some velum. Tim Holtz Ideology stickers have also been added along with sequin from the accessory pack and a silver foil heart to embellish.

Inside the 4x3 card has been layered onto black Bazzill card stock and another heart added to embellish.

I hope you have enjoyed this mini series, I know I have.  Back tomorrow with another card, this one most likely to be full of colour lol.  Take care of you.

Thinking Of You

Today's card is once again retired DSP from Stampin' Up!  I have realised in most of my historical cards I have probably stamped more than used DSP, hence why I seem to have so much of it left lol.

I have used a white peg and lemon card stock from my stash with the wooden heart and pearl accents, along with all the paper and sentiment from Stampin' Up!

I made two with only the main paper having a slightly different pattern.

I hope you have enjoyed today's card.  Take care of you.

Colour Q Weekly Challenge

This week's Colur Q challenge gave me more of a challenge than I anticipate.  I think I had three attempts of designing a card before I was finally happy.  Here is the final card......

and I added detail inside too.......

So how did I come up with this.  First I thought I would....

I wanted stripes.  I used my......

Derwent Inktense pencil in Poppy Red an Aqua brush and dome watercolouring card.  But when I had made this I thought it was too American flagish and although the American flag is very colourful it wasn't the effect I was hoping to achieve.  So next I .......

Went for an entire watercolour wash effect, but still no it just wasn't working for me.  So I pulled out old faithful my Sizzix Basic Shapes die and cut out the shapes in the card instead.  I was still really keen to do some sort of stripes so I cut half inch stripes , arranged them on my card cutting at different lengths and Bob's your uncle, I was happy.

The heart was raised on Dimentionals and I used a retired stamp set from Stampin' Up! and used the flag stamp Stampin in Pool Party.  The card base is Crumb Cake and the navy is Night Of Navy as I only have Midnight Muse ink.

So I got to do a lot of my favourite things in this card.  Watercolouring, used hearts and designed something a bit quirky.  Happy.

Hope today is lots of fun.  Why not head over to the Colour Q blog, click HERE  check out what other designs have been created.

After I had finished and entered my card I took a notion of the card being more nautical an I unpicked some string and pleated it to create a rope and wrapped it round the heart.  I'm not sure about it.  What do you think?

Take care of you.

Valentine Treats

Well hello all, seems like ages since I blogged, work is busy as I'm sure many of you can empathise with.

Valentine's day is just around the corner and yesterday my treats finally arrived so I got to making some treat bags.

The cello bags have 10 jelly hearts and to jazz up a few I added a Hello Kitty dangle and a white wooden peg and a bit of bling for the heart.

Lots of fun.

Hope your weekend has been fun and kind.  Take care of you.

Midnight Muse and Silver

Today's cards I used Midnight Muse cardstock and ink, silver glimmer paper, a heart punch and white embossing powder to create these cards.  The stamp is from Express Yourself, one card has been stamped with Midnight Muse ink and the other heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The white card has been layered between the white card and blue card layer with stamping dimensionals and the on the blue card all the hexagons have been layered using the dimensionals.  All the hearts have been popped up with itty bitty dimensionals.  The envelopes have a midnight muse designer series paper liner inserted, which has been die cut from the envelope liner die.

I am loving this blue with silver it is sleek and spectacular.

All these goodies are from Stampin' Up! and can purchased from my online shop, just click on a tap at the top of the page.  Hope you love them as much as I do.

Take care of you x

Floral Hearts and Butterflies.

This week some people in my life are dealing with grief, some expected but equally incomprehensible and other a few years old but still raw and upsetting.

I myself am coming to term with change and arguable grieving but in a different way.  Life is so fragile, can be shockingly short and just down right hard at times.  So as a way of trying to find good energy, positivity and what has been lacking in my life is some ways, 'a sense of purpose' I automatically reached for what I have found helps me.  Flowers and butterflies can be so beautiful, delicate and have a strange way for many to just make us smile, relaxed and hopefully less stressed.  Or is that wine?  Ok humour works too.......  so here is what today I have made.

The heart came from my LCS at an almighty bargain of £2.50 and I have had it stashed for a number of weeks.  It came with the ivory ribbon attached.

I used Mariposa paper collection from DCWV using the flower die from Stampin' Up! and green and cream card stock from my stash.  I also used both the butterfly punches from Stampin' Up! and punched butterflies from the left over paper from around the flower die, which only goes to reinforce keeping all your scrap is definitely the right thing to do (like I really need any convincing!).

I used my Sizzix Eclips to cut the leaves and Gumball Green ink from Stampin' Up! around the cut edges inside and out as it had white core.  The centre of the leaves was also removed and ink applied and the glued back onto the leave only at the bottom to allow it to move and add a further layer and dimension.

Also from my stash using jewellery wire I places beads into the centres of the flowers wrapping this around the wicker base.

Again from my stash, believe me this is huge, I used hat pins, which I bought from a local haberdashery and twisted the beads on string onto one another to secure then pushed the pin into the wicker to secure it.  I also used tiny seed self adhesive bead, yes from my stash, onto the butterflies to tie it all together.

I'm kind of really liking this wicker heart and I was considering giving it to my mum for Mother's Day......mmmmmm might have to just stay on my wall, it looks gorgeous where it is.

Hope you all are enjoying this lovely sunshine, still a wee bit nippy but wonderful all the same.

Take care of u.
